I wasn't good at much and I had little friends growing up. I was very smart in school at almost every subject; except art. Art was very difficult. It was the subject in school I was the least good at. Thinking of paper and scissors and glue gave me slight anxiety as a child and my projects were always the worst. But I loved it. I was terrible at it but I loved it. I drew everyday honing my skills, little by little. I wanted to be the best. I loved it so much that I told a family member I would be an artist when I grow up and he tried to talk me out of it saying "You will be poor and hungry. Do something else." I had no natural talent and all the odds were against me. I almost gave up on my passion until high schooI. I took a class called Digital Graphics. It was only meant to be a filler class but that filler class changed my life. I knew then what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: Design. Some people are born gifted at it. I was not. I had to and still have to work twice as hard to catch up. But the passion I have for this field, the love and joy it gives me is what keeps me motivated and keeps me going. So much so, I have been fortunate enough to have my hard work recognized. I have been published twice as a book cover designer/illustrator (Zoe by Nkem DenChukwu) and I have had my logos used for various companies including GFK HomeHealthCare, and I currently work as a Creative Director in a conglomerate. Passion, blood, sweat, tears, and such hard work got me my BFA degree (my proudest accomplishment) and my dedication shows in every single one of my pieces. I want to learn more, do more, earn more, and pass on the knowledge and wisdom I have learned the hard way to someone else to better their lives. As Confucius said: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." and I feel I have done that. Let me help your child do the same.
