Education

I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Experience

For the past year I was working as a teaching fellow at a high school. I taught about 20 students through a program that provides extra assistance to students, specifically to help them with Algebra. As a teaching fellow, I have personally worked with students that face challenges that extend further than the classroom. But it is my duty as a tutor to make math a little bit easier for students to understand. I see first hand the different rates that students learn at and the different methods of teaching that are required to successfully assist each student. I love tutoring because I have gotten the chance to see each student reach their full potential and develop a deeper understanding of the material. The lightbulb moment that occurs when a student learns a new concept or realizes their mistake puts a smile on my face. Watching students grasp even the slightest piece of a lesson is a great step forward.
